BVCC U18 State Teams Announced

Category: Frontpage News

Following the B.V.C.C. U18 State Team tryouts the Head Coaches, Rob Baker (Women), and David Flint (Men) have announced the teams that will represent Basketball Victoria Country at the 2010 Under 18 National Titles.

They named 10 players and 5 / 4 emergencies.

The U18 State team tryouts were held in Bendigo on 24th & 25th October, at these tryouts the players were selected for the Australian Country Junior Basketball Cup in Albury, and the Pacific Coast Slam in Port Macquarie. These events were followed by another U18 Camp held in Bendigo on 30th & 31st January 2010, at the end of this camp the State Teams were announced.

As usual the standard of the players that attended the tryouts was very good, both Head Coaches stated that they had a very difficult job to come up with the final selection of their teams.

These teams will now have a preparation phase that will see the teams have 5 weekend live in camps between now and the titles.

The Under 18 National titles will be held in Terrigal, N.S.W. starting on Saturday 10th April and concludes on Saturday 17th April 2010.
